The Tenerife Film Orchestra & Choir (TFO & CHOIR), formed in June 2005, is the first private symphony orchestra in Spain conceived exclusively for recording and performing film soundtracks and music for the audiovisual field. This orchestra, made up of professional musicians and soloists of a very high order, has 85 musicians, and the choir, with Cristina Farrais as choirmaster, has 44 singers.

The Choir Master Cristina Farrais together with the composer Diego Navarro, who is also the artistic director, created this project.

In January 2007 the TFO & CHOIR recorded the first soundtrack, music written, orchestrated and conducted by Diego Navarro, for the film "Oscar. Una pasión surrealista", directed by Lucas Fernández. JMB Records-Karonte, specialized in music for films, has released this first work. In July 2007 the TFO & CHOIR performed with great success and critics, both concerts offered in FIMUCITÉ's first edition conducted by Sean Callery (“24”), Don Davis (The Matrix), Angel Illarramendi (Los Borgia) and Navarro, who conducted his own program and Mychael Danna's music. Those two concerts were recorded and filmed live.

In 2009 during the third edition of festival the prestigious composer Mark Snow, author among other famous TV series of fiction “The X-Files", was the guest conductor. Snow conducted the TF0 & CHOIR performing their music as well as the tribute event dedicated to legendary composer Jerry Goldsmith. At the same time the Orchestra and the Choir performed the music of Jan Kazcmareck and John Ottman under the baton of Navarro who, in the closing concert, conducted the world premiere of "The Biomechanic Symphony" that brings together the most prominent music written for the "ALIEN" franchise.

After the work done during the first three editions of the festival, four live recordings of the TFO & CHOIR will have worldwide distribution in international products. The first is the recording of the world premiere of the suite written by Sean Callery for award-winning series "24", released and composed especially for FIMUCITÉ 2007. This suite is already part of the extras in the edition of the seventh season of the series, published and distributed internationally by Twentieth Century Fox DVD. The second recording with international distribution will come from the hand of the prestigious label Varèse Sarabande with the release of a DVD + CD Fimucité 2008 closing concert, directed by Diego Navarro and Joel McNelly. It is the first occasion in their history that Varese Sarabande release a DVD. The third recording with international impact is the limited edition of the soundtrack of "Oscar, A Surreal Passion" and "Look at the Moon" that has recently been released by the same label. During 2010 FOX intends to include "The Biomechanic Symphony", performed for the first time live by the TFO & CHOIR, as an "extra" in the next Blu-Ray release of the Alien Anthology, being the fourth recording of the Orchestra released with international distribution.

Tenerife Film Ensemble (TFE) is the TFO chamber formation, created to meet the demand for those compositions that requires smaller orchestral formation. For this fourth edition of FIMUCITÉ, the TFE will accompany Carter Burwell during their concert at La Laguna’s Leal theatre.
