FIMUCITÉ Closing Gala will also pay tribute to Jerry Goldsmith, conducted by Mark Snow
FIMUCITÉ 3, sponsored by Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, will close tonight July 25 with a concert where the Tenerife Film Orchestra & Choir, conducted by Diego Navarro, will perform the worldwide premiere of the “Biomechanic Symphony”. The concert, starting at 20.30, will be the final step in the tribute the festival has paid to the 30th anniversary of the “Alien” premiere.
Apart from pieces from the four films of the franchise, this symphony will include as an encore a suite of “Aliens vs Predator: Requiem”, and it will be followed by a program devoted to Jerry Goldsmith. The second half of the concert will be conducted by Mark Snow with some of the most famous scores of this composer. The choir master of this concert will be Cristina Farrais and Karolina Gorgol the soprano solist.
The program of the concert will be: from “Alien”, the “Main Title, “The Landing”, “Breakaway”, “The Droid”, “The Door” and “End Title”; from “Aliens” “Futile Escape” and “Bishop’s Countdown”; from “Alien 3” “Lento” and “Adagio”; and from “Alien Resurrection” a suite prepared by John Frizzel especially for the festival.
In the second half of the concert the Tenerife Film Orchestra & Choir will perform “End Title” from “Star Trek: First Contact”; “Main Title” from “Capricorn One” and “The Illustrated Man”; “The Clothes Snatchers” y “The Hunt”, from “Palnet of the Apes”; “The Mission”, written for “The Sum of all Fears”; “The Swarm” “End Title”; the famous “Carol Anne´s Theme”, from “Poltergeist”; and two impressive suites from “Gremlins” and “The Omen”.
Agenda:
The parallel activities of the festival, that have been taking place during the week in TEA, will also face their home stretch, with the screening, at 20.30 and 22.15, of the films “Forbidden Planet” and “Aliens vs Predator: Requiem”. On Sunday at 17.00, as climax, there will be a film marathon with the whole Alien saga.
