The Fundación Autor has joined the sponsors of this concert where the scores of Pascal Gaigne and Arnau Bataller, and of the Goya winner Roque Baños will be enjoyed at 21.00
The V Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ) has staged for today, Thursday 30, a night focused on the Spanish composers at Guimerá Theater at 21.00. The Tenerife Film Ensemble and the Symphony Orchestra of the Santa Cruz Conservatory will perform some of the best the scores of Pascal Gaigne and Arnau Bataller, and Roque Baños, Goya winner for the score of "Las 13 Rosas" and "The Oxford Murders".
The concert, sponsored by Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, Canary Islands Government, Santa Cruz and La Laguna City Councils and the Fundación Autor, will be conducted by Julio Castañeda and Baños himself, and will have the participation of the soloist cello Nick Cooper. In the first half, we will enjoy Pascal Gaigne's delightful scores for "Verbo" and "Las voces de la noche", performed by the Tenerife Film Ensemble. After the interlude in which the VII Spanish Film Music Critics Awards will be presented, the Orchestra of the Conservatory will perform Roque Baños' scores for "Torrente 4" and "Balada triste de trompeta". They will also perform the World premieres of Stephen Warbeck's suite of "There Be Dragons" and Arnau Bataller's one of "La Herencia Valdemar/La sombra prohibida".
The Fundación Autor, belonging to the SGAE, has joined the official sponsors of this concert, which means a FIMUCITÉ commitment with the artistic creation and with our country's culture.
Today afternoon at 17.00 at Espacio Cultural de CajaCanarias Robert Piaskowski and Diego Navarro, director of the Kracow Film Music Festival and director of FIMUCITÉ, respectively, will give a panel on "Film Music Live". After this, at 18.00, the composer Shigeru Umebayashi will give the audience his "Thoughts about Oriental Films".
On the other hand, today will be screened "Farenheit 451" at 11.00 for the Bernard Herrmann's season in Espacio Cultural de CajaCanarias. At 19.30 in Tenerife, Espacio de las Artes (TEA), there will be a FIMUCITÉ retrospective, with the screening of ALIEN, Biomechanical Symphony, conducted by Diego Navarro at FIMUCITÉ 3 Closing Gala Concert.
