Time flies and in the twinkling of an eye, FIMUCITÉ is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. When we look back, all the things we have got since the festival was born in 2007 seem to be unbelievable. A great amount of composers have visited us and we have played many soundtracks from important films, some of them in concert premieres, arranged and orchestrated expressly for the festival. We have organized round tables, parallel activities, screenings and we have published three books, written by the team of the festival in coordination with other collaborators. The Spanish film music event par excellence will take place from June 27 to July 2 and will have some prestigious national composers and concerts at Leal Theater, Guimerá Theater and the Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín”

Shigeru Umebayashi was born in Kitakyushu, Japan, on the 19th of February 1951. Shigeru Umebayashi launched his music career during the Japanese new wave movement in the 80's as the leader of rock band "EX". When EX disbanded in 1984 he soon started to expand his activities to the field of film music. His first film music projects transpired when he met the then famous Japanese actor Yusaku Matsuda.
