The concert will be the first chamber music performance given by the Festival. Darren Aronofsky’s composer, whose latest work has been “The Wrestler”, will also perform, with Sonus Quartet, the director’s first work “Pi” and Duncan Jones’ film “Moon”, which has not been premièred in the United States yet. Sonus is formed by Vanessa Freebairn-Smith (cello), Neel Hammand (viola), Kathleen Sloan y Caroline Campbell (violins), Kevin Dompe (drums and percussion), Brian Emrich (bass guitar), Carly Paradis (piano) and Mike Fonte (guitar).

Clint Mansell has won, among others, the World Soundtrack Award and the Public Choice Award for “The Fountain” (2007); the Best Original Score of the Online Film Critics Society Awards for “Requiem for a Dream” (2001) and “The Fountain” (2007); and the Best Original Score of the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards for “The Fountain” (2006)

The score for “Requiem for a Dream” became a cult success very quickly. In fact, the trailer for “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” used a remixed version for “Lux Aeterna”, composition recorded with a full orchestra and choir. This piece called “Requiem for a Tower” was only conceived for the trailer and was written by Simone Benyacar, Dan Nielsen and Veigar Margeirsson. In October 2006, the piece was included in the iTunes album Corner Stone Cues because of the fans great demand. This piece has had a great presence on The Internet, since videos and trailers fans have often used it.

Agreement with the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Music Band

FIMUCITÉ has reached an agreement with Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council to extend the Festival along the Capital streets with two concerts of the City Music Band, on Tuesday 21st and Thursday 23rd at 18.00 in La Candelaria Square. The Band, conducted by Felipe Neri, will perform some of the best classic scores in a firm commitment of FIMUCITÉ to link Tenerife’s musicians to the international concept of the Festival. Both concerts will be an opportunity for adults and children to know more about film scores, as well as to get into the habit of listening to them and increase the love for music.

The Third edition of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival has been possible thanks to the sponsorship of Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, Canary Islands Government and Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna City Councils, as well as to the cooperation of a great number of public and private entities.
