Tomorrow at 20.30, Valencian conductor will lead The Conservatory Symphonic Band, at the Festival pre-opening concert, with a selection of Disney Classics
“The Conservatory’s connection with FIMUCITÉ since the second edition is a great satisfaction for us. Because of FIMUCITÉ’s growing international significance, and the renowned guests that are coming to Tenerife, this opportunity it is like playing in the Champion’s League ”
That’s the way Valencian conductor José Luis Cebolla sees it. He has been the conductor of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Conservatory’s Symphonic Band for eight years, and tomorrow, at 20.30, he will conduct it again in FIMUCITÉ’s pre-opening concert. The recital, that will take place at Antonio Lecuona Auditorium, includes a repertoire of the best Disney Classics.
According to Cebolla, this selection of themes that helped the greatness of productions such as “The Lion King”, “Aladdin”, “The Beauty and the Beast” or “The Jungle Book” will be the best opportunity to bring the young audience closer to the Festival, a playful experience that otherwise could be quite serious. The conductor believes that children will see classical music as an amusing experience, and it will also be an opportunity “to increase our reserve of junior players”.
José Luis Cebolla also stated that Disney’s compositions have lived in the dreams of present and future musicians of the Tenerife respected music school. “Actually, most of our students are young people that until very recently watched these films, and the teachers know them as well, because most of us have children”
Last year, FIMUCITÉ preopening concert took place in Teatro Guimerá with a program based on compositions by John Williams, father of film scores such as “Star Wars” o “Indiana Jones”.
