Born in Madrid in 1947, starts working for the magazine Trincawith Dos fugitivos en Malasia, story scripted by Fernando Sesén. He also does some short science fiction stories written by Carlos Sáiz Cidoncha and Carlos Buiza, gathered in the album Alpha Cosmos. In 1976 Azpiri collaborates with the children magazine El Acordeónwith several other science fiction episodes and in the adult magazine Muerde; at the same time he develops a series of erotic stories for the Italian market. By the end of the 70s he starts his collaboration withNorma, getting great recognition with Zephyd, erotic fantasy series, released in the first times of the Cimoc, with his most renowned character, Lorna and her robot, born in the pages of Mastia to continue in publications such as A tope and Cimoc, which will confirm him as a master in the erotic humor comics.
All along the 80s he will make prove of his great skills in the fantastic genre with Los vagabundos del infinito(1980, written by Cidoncha for Delta), some short stories for the Toutain Editor 1984 magazine and its following Zona 84, and Manolo el bárbaro (1983, for Camello). In 1988 he turns back his attention to young readers with Mot, in Pequeño País; the adventures of this nice monster, compiled in five albums edited byAltea, inspired a cartoon-animated series produced by the French company Ellipse. Azpiri has also worked for the film industry designing the real image movie El Caballero del Dragón (Fernando Colomo, 1985) and for other cartoon films. During the 90s he works in El bosque de Lump again for Pequeño País (1994), and inPesadillas (1992, written by Juan Antonio de Blas for Cimoc) and Bethlehem Steele (1994, various script writes for Penthouse Comix).
Apart from his publications in magazines his talent leads him to the computer field during the 80s, working on more than 200 softwares and videogames covers for several Spanish companies (Dinamic Multimedia, Topo Soft y Opera Soft, among others) including his most famous characters Lorna and Mot.
Most recently he has gone deeper into the science fiction field with Despertares and erotism with Sueños húmedos (with two albums) together with Lorna’s new adventures. Besides his comic career, he is a great illustrator gifted with great talent to draw sensual women. He has been published in prestigious magazines such as Heavy Metal and Penthouse. He has put together a selection of his works in the Sensations album.
